![]() ![]() Essentially, Rapid Beat is an auto combo system achieved by spamming Light, Medium, and heavy attacks three times. Very different from the half-circle C input from the previous games.Ī new mechanic introduced is "Rapid Beat", or as would like to call it, doing Overdrives from Parts 1 & 2 of Jojo. You have to do a new input, which involves  :arrow_lower_right: :arrow_right: B+C at the same. I could still pull off the old moves and combos, but I noticed that I couldn't do the Arc Drives (Flashy Super Special Awesome finishet moves) with the old input. Keep in mind, I don't have a controller at the moment, so I played the game in the PC with a keyboard. Sure, the combos and character moves were the same from the old games (Except for Vlovi-boi, who is new) but there has been changes and new additions. I just like to think I got a good gist of what an average non-competative player of the old games would expect and how they react to the new game. I just played the game for fun with my friends or by myself trying to farm Steam Achievements. Now before someone who is a certified Melty Blood Sommelier Pro Gaming Guru Assassin stomps on me and for my "inferior insights", I admit that I'm not a pro-level Melty Blood fighter sponsored by G-fuel or anything. First off, the graphics, the visuals, voice acting, and OST were fresh and was a welcome upgrade.īut as a guy who played the older iterations, specifically Actress Again Current Code (What was Nasu thinking with that long ass title), I immediately noticed changes in the gameplay. As Akiha said, I spent my Friday midnight on trying out the new Melty Blood.
